Westerdok 18-01-2012

It's been like six month that I've visit Westerdok. I was afraid that I would be difficult to pick up where I was left. Due to freelance projects and my familie. Making time to draw is a luxury.

10/15 min sessions with Polish model.

Dailies Portrait 01

Post of a new series of portrait. Drawn in 15 min before I hit the bed. It really helps me to relax a bit before sleeping. Almost as good as meditation.

Here below I found a nice old photograph of a unidentified soldier of the First AIF .Try to capture light and value using pencils. Still need more practice to capture the reality and subtle value changes in his skin.

Westerdock 14 -01-2010

Quite busy recently at work and home. Preparing babyroom and try to get some sleep. But still able to find some spare time to have good figure drawing session. White Conte crayons + pencil become my favorite tools.

Just take over the 5D from a collegue/friend. Haven't got much time to play and shoot due to the cold weather condition. But it's great in lowlight capturing my sketches.

Recently trying some new technique which work out quite nice. Unfortunately white pencil can't give me the intensity in the highlights that I see in other professional artist. Maybe I should try the white conte. Sorry for the bad quality photo's.
